"I am an image-maker; a maker of images of black people. these people populate my consciousness in the future perfect tense. I create using Black aesthetic principles in my process; Frontality of form; rhythm; harmony of rich and vibrant color, with self-determination and the kinky-ness in our ideas. I make images that address our past, our now, and our hope for a humanity that forces life, growth and power. The paintings, drawings and assemblages I create, attempt to manifest for the viewer a sense of who we are and who hope to be. "
